A few days ago I wrote for another publication about the 10 possible actions that are in our power to improve the planet, and how we can join the cause to conserve our planet and preserve it from destruction
We must avoid this climate change with small gestures that we can do day by day. It is just putting our grains of sand, adding one by one.
Climate change, natural devastation, pollution, the scarcity of natural resources, and great economic differences are leading us to the idea of being more and more sustainable and with it the need to protect the planet for future generations.
We impact the planet every day, each movement of each one of us will impact the planet to a greater or lesser extent. We need to act, with small individual changes to achieve a much greener planet.
It is about leading a sustainable lifestyle, replacing small or large daily habits.
We have reached a point where going for a walk in the same as going shopping, everything is bought even if we don’t need it. I propose to reflect for a moment before acquiring anything, and ask ourselves some questions: do I need it? Is what I am going to acquire sustainable?
We must recycle everything possible and avoid as much as possible everything that we are going to throw away. For example, don’t throw away food, surely there are great recipes with leftovers from other days.
Not only will it be positive for the planet, in which we will support local farming and local trade, but we will also avoid traveling and transporting food far away. Organic foods are best because they have been grown as naturally as possible.
It will help us feel healthier since we will have a simpler, less elaborate diet, with less animal protein content, easier to digest, and that provides more energy to the body.
Sustainable cosmetics with the highest content of natural ingredients can be just as effective as any other, it is eco-friendly cosmetics.
We can use products that have a lower content of petroleum derivatives, avoid those that have a lot of packaging, those that contain plastic and give priority to those whose packaging can be reused.
In the same way that we avoid using products that are not going to be respectful of the environment in our hygiene and personal care, we must bear in mind that the products we use for cleaning the house should follow the same characteristics as far as possible.
Prefer products that we will use several times whenever possible, such as using reusable cotton, muslin, or bamboo toothbrushes.
Yes, we do have to discard those that are sustainable, for example, preferring cardboard to plastic, and always compostable, biodegradable and recyclable materials.
Do you need a bag? It is one of the questions that we are asked many times and that we have to ask in the pharmacy when customers come to buy, it would be much more logical for both parties to forget about this question, whether you are a customer or if you are facing the public.
It is much more sustainable to use a cloth bag, do you remember the bread bag we had when we were little, why did we stop using it? We are going to resume this custom when we go shopping.
But not only that, when keeping food in the fridge, let’s forget the aluminum containers or aluminum trays and let’s use again the clean glass Tupperware, has no odor, preserves food better and we can even use it to serve on the table.
We have closets overflowing with clothes, and if we look at fashion at all, the banished shoulder pads suddenly reappear on the catwalk, why don’t we reuse them or put them back on? dressmaker’s retouch to update it or to adjust the size.
If you are not going to wear it, give it to another person who is useful or another option is to sell it through a second-hand clothing app.
A few years ago taking things to be repaired was the easiest thing in the world. As the years went by, it became impossible to repair appliances and other devices after a few years of use because there were no parts or you couldn’t find anyone to do it. Fortunately, this year the EU requires manufacturers to repair appliances for at least 10 years, providing the necessary parts. We must take advantage of this regulation and in this way, we will avoid the disposal of many of these appliances that are piled up on the planet without any use.
Older cars are very polluting, and not only pollute the air but also the acoustics, which is why we should switch to electric cars.
But it’s not all about cars, but walking is one of the most sustainable gestures that we can all carry out more easily. When we walk we get to know our environment better, we will preserve it from this pollution and we will also improve our health, improve our, we reduce stress and we will be fitter.
Let’s not forget the motto who moves the legs, moves the heart.
They are recommended to realize that the planet needs to be green, we are going to learn to love it more. It has been shown that people who are more closely linked to nature take care of it and love it more.
This is why it is necessary to recover excursions to the mountains and walks in the open air such as hiking, going to visit towns, farms or fields. Let’s teach our children that not everything is asphalt, let’s teach them to respect nature and get to know the most beautiful things in nature.
Without realizing it, we will all act and live in a much more sustainable way.
A gesture as simple as turning off the tap will help save, not only on the water bill but also on the loss of the most valuable of the goods that nature provides us. You cannot live without water, it is scarce and climate change is causing greater water scarcity.
Simple gestures such as taking a shower instead of bathing, putting the washing machine full and with the right program, or simply not leaving the tap running without further ado make a big difference.
Leading a sustainable lifestyle means wholeheartedly embracing respect for the environment and making a positive impact for people and the planet.
